With a focus on the modern cuisine of Hamburg and first-class quality, the VLET brand has been making a name for itself in Hamburg since it was first founded in 2008. The culinary philosophy includes traditional recipes from historical cookbooks, creative compositions and the use of regional and seasonal products from long-time partners. The VLET restaurant in Speicherstadt, which has received 15 Gault Millau points several times over, offers both locals and tourists a modern interpretation of Hamburg's cuisine - right in the middle of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. In a few hundred meters as the crow flies, on the Jungfernstieg Promenade, the VLET Kitchen & Bar delights its guests not only with international-Hanseatic creations, but also, with the view of the Hamburg City Hall from its location directly at Inner Alster Lake. And, whoever would like to, not just taste the city's cuisine, but also study it, would be welcome at the VLET culinary school at Gaensemarkt: Here, learning how to prepare 3-course meals can be done through a variety of themed cooking classes taught by VLET professional chefs.

A decorative redesign

After having made some small architectural modernisations to the interior, the VLET restaurants wanted to reimagine their equipment and design. As a partner, HAKOH GmbH supported VLET Restaurants and Culinary School in the procurement of state-of-the-art equipment for the kitchen and bar area, as well as new, unique tableware and furniture in a simple, elegant design. Our teams in Asia and Germany put together a custom product portfolio for the restaurants and assumed responsibility for the entire logistics process - from ordering each individual product to ensuring the deliveries to the respective restaurants.

COVID-19: Overcoming the challenges together


As a result of the corona pandemic, the VLET restaurants, just like all other gastronomic establishments, had to face new challenges and integrate a comprehensive hygiene concept into their locations. With the Health & Care business unit, HAKOH GmbH equipped all outlets with the necessary disinfectant dispensers at the entrances, as well as the sanitation stations. HAKOH Health & Care also supplied medical masks for guests and staff and SARSCoV-2 rapid tests, from partner, MEDsan®, with which trained employees have been able to test the guests on site.
